Gloria Kimbrell and Curt Cochran, owner of the Madd Hatters Antiques Shop in Downtown Gastonia, had originally planned to expand to Eastridge Mall in early 2000, but as with many plans around that time, COVID happened and caused those plans to be delayed.Â
The following Summer things got rolling again and Antiques At Eastridge opened in July, 2021 on the lower level near the Belk’s anchor store.
The new location came at an opportune time as The Sleepy Poet Antique Mall in Gastonia announced they were closing that location, leaving shoppers with less options for vintage items.Â
For those who have never shopped in a vintage store, or “Antique mall”, what you typically find is a wide selection of different types of items, from true “Antiques” to other collectibles as well as pop culture memorabilia and media. This sector of retail has definitely evolved in recent years to offer more for everyone beyond what one may typically think of.Â
This is definitely true of Antiques At Eastridge. You can browse some amazing inventory from bygone eras, but they also feature a great selection of records, comic and collectible toys.
(And if you can’t find what your are looking for in those areas: check with Carl Shultz of EarWax Records & More and he can most likely find it for you.)
Store will include, antiques, vintage clothing, comics, local artisans."

Vintage Village’s Grand Opening is Saturday, April 2nd starting at 11am. Be sure to stop in for some free giveaways and meet Wylie, the Carolina Catfish Festival mascot!
